The engine in a 635CSi is an M30. A Six cylinder 12 valve affair with a timing chain (no belt!) that was also used in the 535i and the 735i of the same era.
It's got 218BHP and 229ft/lb torque that should whizz it to 60 in 7.7 seconds.
